Whether he’s leading engineering teams, taking software products to the next level, working in his garden or spending quality time with his kids, Shamik loves to nurture growth. He’s helped sow the seeds of success for a variety of start-ups – including his own company, Confluent Software, which was later acquired by Oracle – and dedicated his most recent efforts to cultivating social web products at Yahoo!, StumpleUpon, and RockYou. During his tenure, RockYou grew into the largest third-party ad network on Facebook, and each vertical in Yahoo!’s marketplaces business unit became a top-3 destination in its category. He holds a B.Tech. from the Indian Institute of Technology and an M.S. in computer science from the University of Maryland.
